CARIBOU — U.S. Senate candidate Bruce Poliquin and District 2 Congressional candidate Blaine Richardson spoke at a meeting of the Aroostook County Republican Committee on April 21, at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.

Following a traditional prayer and Pledge of Allegiance, the two candidates were introduced by Geri Martin, program chair. An open forum question-and-answer period for the candidates has become a standard format at the Aroostook Republican meetings.
“In addition to a strict constitutional standing, Poliquin, Maine’s Treasurer of State, demonstrated a solid understanding of fiscal issues at the state and federal level with a proven record of addressing tough financial issues at the state level. Treasurer Poliquin says many of the state’s financial problems need to be resolved in Washington,” said ACRC Chairman, Hayes Gahagan.
Gahagan, also stated, “There’s no question that Blaine Richardson, a retired Navy captain, is a constitutional conservative.”
Both candidates confirmed their pro-life, pro-gun Second Amendment rights and support for a strict interpretation of the U.S. Constitution.
