Caribou and Kennesaw, GA. – Robert R. Smith 45, died unexpectedly April 16, 2012, at Kennesaw, Georgia. He was born in Presque Isle November 1, 1966, the son of the late Robert and Shirley (Howe) Smith.
He grew up on the family farm in Caribou and enjoyed many family camping trips, often meeting with the extended Howe family at Musquacook Lake. Rob was a 1985 graduate of Caribou High School, was a graduate of the University of Maine and had received his Master’s Degree from the University of Maine Orono. He was employed as an account supervisor with CCH Small Firm Services, formally ATX, a job and co-workers he truly enjoyed. He also taught several classes at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Patrick Bither of New Sweden; a special aunt and uncle, Barb and Phil Smith; his cousins, Scott, Teresa, John and Travis with whom Rob grew up next door to; three nephews, Levi, Jacob and Kevin; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
