Little Miss event results in four new queens

On April 14, the Lister/Knowlton VFW Auxiliary once again provided the opportunity for 11 young ladies to contend for the title and crown of Little Miss, this year contestants vied for the right to represent the hometowns of Caribou, Connor, New Sweden and Woodland.

Mikaela Spooner played a piano selection of “God Bless America” during the talent presentations. Little Miss New Sweden 2012 is the daughter of David and Laurie Spooner.

 

During the evening affair, held at the Caribou Performing Arts Center, each contestant was judged in the categories of a fashion walk, talent and evening gowns. Prior to the pageant the contestants were also judged on their personal interviews.

Edie Shea presented a vocal selection of ‘Brother For Sale” as her talent during the recent  Little Miss Caribou Pageant. Little Miss Caribou is the daughter of Mark and Becky Shea.

The stage sparkled with smiles and was awash with brilliant colors and the large audience in attendance was treated to tremendous talent presentations.

Following their gown walks the tension grew as the winners were announced.

Presenting a martial arts demonstration of Tae Shin Do, was Little Miss Connor winner Jessica Leavitt, the daughter of Wade and Jill Leavitt.

Capturing the title of Little Miss Caribou 2012 was Edie Rose Shea, and first runner-up to that title was Alexis Isabelle Doroen.

Named the 2012 Little Miss New Sweden was 7-year-old Mikaela Lorraine Spooner.

Claiming the crown of Little Miss Woodland 2012 was Macy Francis Wakem, who also was named the winner of the judges’ overall talent and the personal interview awards. Madison Rae Zeigler was named the first runner-up to the Little Miss Woodland title.

For her talent, Macy Wakem sang “True Colors” during the recent pageant sponsored by the Lister/Knowlton VFW Auxiliary. Little Miss Woodland is the daughter of Matt and Becky Wakem.

Alexis Doroen, the daughter of Joshua Doroen and Jennifer Violette, played “18th Century Dance” on the piano as her talent presentation of the Little Miss Caribou Pageant.

Jessica Marie Leavitt took the 2012 crown and title of Little Miss Connor and was also recognized for having the third highest ticket sales for the pageant.

Miss Krysta Shae McLaughlin was voted the 2012 Miss Congeniality by the young contestants.

Kallee Parent performed a lyrical dance to the music of “The Glow” for her talent presentation during the Little Miss Caribou Pageant. She is the daughter of Kim and Jason Parent.

Dancing to “I Am a Gummy Bear” was Little Miss Caribou contestant Katlyn Jandreau, the daughter of Dave and Nichol Jandreau.

Naomi Cote sang “Free to be Me” during the Little Miss Caribou pageant which was held April 14 and sponsored by the Lister/Knowlton VFW Auxiliary. She is the daughter of Ryan and Nichole Cote.

Cassidy Page, daughter of Jason Page and Kimberly Bouley, danced to “Magic Carpet Ride” as a 2012 Little Miss Woodland contestant.

Throughout the evening visiting queens were introduced and reigning queens provided special entertainment. These special guests included 2011 Little Miss Connor Victoria Leavitt; 2011 Little Miss Caribou McKenna Smith; and 2011 Little Miss Woodland Brooke Moir.

An opening dance number to “Trashin’ the Camp” was choreographed by Paige Small and included all of the contestants and the 2011 reigning Little Miss queens.

Krysta McLaughlin, the daughter of Mike and Jeannie McLaughlin, presented a reading from the Bible during the  Little Miss Woodland Pageant.

All proceeds from the annual Little Miss Pageant go toward the VFW Auxiliary’s Cancer Aid and Research programs.

Cheryl Bossie is director of the pageant and Sherill Campbell served an mistress of ceremonies for the April 14 event.

Madison Zeigler played the electric guitar version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” for her talent presentation at the 2012 Little Miss Woodland Pageant held April 14 at the Caribou Performing Arts Center. She is the daughter of Lance Zeigler and Janelle Zeigler.
