CARIBOU – Connie M. Disy, 59, passed away Saturday morning, March 24, 2012, at her daughter’s Limestone residence, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born October 21, 1952, in Patuxent River, Maryland, the daughter of Phillip and Connie (Bouchard) Baker.
Connie graduated from the Madawaska High School, Class of 1970 and also was a graduate of the University of Maine at Fort Kent receiving her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. She was a twenty-year resident of Caribou where she was employed as a social worker with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
Connie will be always remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a mother to all and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid quilter, loved the beach and was an advocate for cancer survivors.
In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by one brother, Frank Baker.
Connie is survived by two daughters, Libby Durepo, her husband, Chris and their daughter, Claire Marie Durepo, all of Limestone, and Jenna Disy and her son, Evan Parker, both of New Canada; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Colleen Baker of Sanford, Jeffrey and Phyllis Baker of Presque Isle, Skip and Nina Baker of Amesbury, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
Friends called 7 – 9 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012, at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a vigil service was conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie. The funeral service was conducted Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating.
