    HOULTON – Dean A. York, 77, died March 22, 2012 at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 29, 1934 at Houlton, the son of Malcolm E. and Muriel (Golding) York.
    Dean served in the U.S. Navy. He was the principal of Island Falls High School, then taught math at Houlton High School for 38 years.
    Dean is survived by his brother, Lynn York of Houlton; three daughters, Jody of Orrington, Diane of Standish, and Susan of Houlton; two grandchildren, Casey and Gehrig of Orrington. He will be fondly remembered as Gramps to Frank Dorr.
    Friends called at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 12 noon Tuesday until the time of the service 1 p.m. with Rev. Ginny Urbanek officiating. Gifts may be made in Dean’s memory to the Dean A. York Memorial Fund, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street Houlton, ME 04730.
