Hard Life of Work

By Justin Buck

Old farmer still going.
Through his wrinkles tell many stories
He is around 80 and still
working on a farm in Italy
He has seen people being born before his eyes
He has seen people die before his eyes
He is a hard-working man
He has worked most of his life but doesn’t want to stop
He has fought in the war
He has a loving family
He makes an honest living
The only thing he hasn’t done yet was …
Stop …

Reflection

By Oliver Gerrish

Staring at my reflection
Trying to blend in,
But knowing that I’m the centerpiece.

I feel worried
And guilty,
Even though I am innocent.

Standing in a small room
Innocence in my mind,
But guiltiness in my heart.

Fade Away

By Mariah Ellis

He is there but no one sees him.

He has always been there but no one has heard him.

He looks for someone to notice but no one does.

Sometimes he feels invisible.

Like no one can see him, and no one would care to.

He wants someone to see him.

He is used to people looking but not seeing.

He thinks if he stands in one place, completely still he will just fade away.

But then again … maybe he will.
