The Limestone Parks and Recreation Department will be host to an American Red Cross Life-guarding course for those ages 15 and older at the Limestone Community Pool, on March 17, 18, 24 and 25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Participants in this course, taught by Patricia Allen, a certified instructor, will learn to work as part of a team, helping others safely enjoy water activities. Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice those in the class will learn rescue skills for use in the water and on land; first-aid and professional rescuer CPR/AED training; professional lifeguard responsibilities as well as surveillance skills to help recognize and prevent injuries.
The American Red Cross certification is recognized nation-wide. No other training organization helps train as many lifeguards each year as the American Red Cross.
The cost for this course is $156 per person and pre-registration is required.
