Game-winning steal credited to wrong player
Presque Isle High School is still celebrating the girls win over Lake Region to claim the State Class B basketball crown, but one member of the team is not getting all the credit she deserves.
Several news outlets across the state, including The Star-Herald, incorrectly reported junior Chandler Guerrette stole the ball in the final seconds of the game to preserve the 49-47 win. It was in fact senior Chelsea Nickerson who made that fantastic play. We apologize for the error.
