Clark, Robert “Bobby Alan”, 56, of Falmouth, Maine, on March 8, 2012. Per bobby’s wishes there will be no formal services, instead there will be a celebration of life bar-b-que at the Ewing farm in Caribou.
FALMOUTH, Maine — Bobby (56) rose from his recliner for one last time on March 8, 2012, when he took his last long haul from this life into the next. Bobby was born on May 20, 1955 in Caribou, Maine to Robert and Freida (Hughes) Clark. Bobby was a kind loving and protective son and brother. From the time he was a young boy, at the age of 14, he sacrificed his own formal education to work in potato houses to help his mother financially support and raise his younger siblings. Bobby was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone else.
Bobby was proud to be from Caribou and from a farming family, he put in many hours working on his uncle’s farm. He was also proud of his life-long career as a “transportation engineer” (long haul trucker) which began when he was 17 years old. Bobby easily made friends on the highways and byways of America.
One of Bobby’s greatest pleasures in life was to make people laugh and smile and to brighten their day. He was well known for his humor and quick wit, which is how he will be remembered; he also loved to put on dinners and was well known for his delicious artery clogging home cooked meals.
Bobby came from a very large extended family and, in addition to his many relatives, he had a multitude of caring friends, including special friends at the truck stop in Houlton: Darci, Sue and Brandi and fellow truck driver, Wayne Woods and Linda.
Bobby leaves behind many people who will miss him dearly, including his five siblings: brothers, Bill Hughes of Old Orchard Beach and Ronnie Clark of Caribou; sisters, Roberta Butterfield and her husband, Chris of Portland; Rhonda Arsenault and her husband, Tom of New Gloucester and Rena Clark Voisine of Falmouth; nephews, Beau Voisine of Westbrook and Forrest “Gerry” Butterfield of Portland; nieces, Kailee Clark of Caribou and his especially loved niece, Katie Arsenault of New Gloucester who will surely miss her “Uncle Fluffy.”
In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind his former wife, Myrna Miller and special cousins Rita and Kenneth Ewing, Kathy Demerchant, and Neil and Clark Ewing. Bobby was predeceased by his parents and special cousins, Rodney and Colby Ewing, and very good friend, Arthur Akerson. A special thank you goes out to Tina Akerson and children Richard, Linda and Lisa for their heartfelt friendship with Bobby over the years. Bobby’s family also wishes to thank Dr. Rebecca Hemphill and her staff for their excellent care and friendship. He was very fond of Dr. Hemphill and Theresa Stivers who worked in her office and with whom he shared many stories.
Per Bobby’s wishes there will be no formal services, instead there will be a celebration of life bar-b-que at the Ewing farm in Caribou. A memorial notice will be placed in the paper in late spring.
