HOULTON – Phyllis London Burtt Peabody, RN, 95, died March 8, 2012 at a local healthcare facility. She was born Sept. 17, 1916, at Hodgdon, the daughter of Herbert and Irene (MacDougal) London.
Phyllis was a graduate of Hodgdon High School and the Aroostook General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She was employed by the Aroostook General Hospital and as an office nurse for Dr. John Madigan and Dr. Ted Sussman.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, M. Jean Lynch and her husband, John “Jac”, of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, James Lynch and his wife, Risa, Suzanne Guild and her husband, Donald, and Michael Lynch and his wife, Mareshah; six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; many very special nieces and nephews; four stepchildren, Walter Peabody, Jaye Peabody, Marlynn London, Mary Sue Jackson and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved, son Richard Burtt in 1967, her first husband, Walter Burtt, in 1975 and her second husband, Ralph Peabody, in 1994; two sisters, Dorothy McKay and Merle Lee; three brothers, Earl London, Guy London, and Herbert “Bud” London; and step-son, Thornton Peabody.
Graveside services will be announced at a later date.
