GRAHAM, Hubert E., 81, WASHBURN, March 5, 2012. A spring interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Homes, Presque Isle.
WASHBURN – Hubert E. Graham, 81, passed away March 5, 2011, at a Presque Isle rehab facility. He was born May 13, 1930, in Houlton, the son of Howard and Lillian (Watson) Graham.
He served as a Sargent in the Armored Division of the US Army during the Korean War.
Hubert enjoyed playing drums in the area Pentecostal churches, he attended over the years. Recently he was attending the Dunntown Advent Christian Church. Hubert worked all of his life in the construction business, building bridges and sidewalks, on streets and roads across the State of Maine. He loved carpentry and enjoyed remodeling old homes for resale, and giving away the bounty from his wonderful vegetable gardens. He was a past member of Hayward-Frazier Post #2599 VFW, in Presque Isle.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Audrey (Condon) McPherson Graham of Washburn; three step-daughters, Kathleen (McPherson) Bishop and her partner, Doug Heroux of Enfield, CT, Elaine (McPherson) Shapleigh of Brentwood, CA, and Linna (McPherson) Howard of Irvine, CA; grandchildren, Bradley, Bethany, Kelley, Tracey, Heidi, Brett and Wade; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Leland Graham and his wife, Joyce of the Carolinas; a sister, Pauline Moran of Presque Isle; a sister-in-law, Florence Josie Graham of Presque Isle; and several nieces and nephews.
Hubert was predeceased by an infant daughter, Nancy; grandson, John; and four brothers, Olin, Bernard, Allison and Phillip Graham.
Funeral services were conducted 3 p.m., Saturday, March 10, at Dunntown Advent Christian Church, with Rev George McLaughlin officiating. Relatives and friends called at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Military Honors followed the service. A spring interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
