ATV club plans April meeting

It’s that time of year again! The first meeting of the season for the Washburn Beavers ATV Club will be held on Wednesday, April 4, at the Washburn Trail Runners clubhouse. A potluck supper will start at 6 p.m., with the meeting to follow around 6:45 p.m.
Members will be electing officers, discussing bylaws, season projects, summer events and much more. Everyone is welcome to attend. Project Graduation
Washburn Project Grad 2012 is taking donations at the bottle redemption center in Washburn for this school year. Just let them know that you want to donate your bottles. Thank you to anyone that has given to the students in the past. It is greatly appreciated.

Washburn Trail Runners
Remember that the clubhouse will be open every weekend from now until the last weekend of March serving weekend breakfast and lunches. The hours are: Fridays, 8 a.m.-noon; Saturdays, 7 a.m.-2 p.m.; and Sundays, 7 a.m.-noon.
The club also has a selection of winter accessories.

The David J. Lyon Washburn District Elementary School recently held a dental health poster contest. First-, second- and third-place winners were announced and include, in first place: Braydon Castonguay, Amanda White, Madison Miller, Haley Johnston, Mykayla Kellom, Karissa Farr, Trinity Bartlett, Liddia Collins, Hannah Kilcollins and Patrick Tardie. Second-place winners include: McKenzey Tarbox, Landyn Hyde, Shawn Doak, Kylie Drost, Kyli Farley, Emily Jackson, Maggie Castonguay, Jacob Maynard, and Lexie Barker. Third-place winners include: Hannah Worsley, Nicholas Smart, Jayden McPherson, Elijah Canales, Adrianna Singletary, Raegan Whipkey and Kala Cunningham.
In addition, the following posters will be placed in the Aroostook County Dental Health Poster Contest sponsored by ACAP: Amanda White and Trinity Bartlett, 2nd graders in Mrs. Castonguay’s class; Patrick Tardie and Madison Miller, 3rd graders in Mrs. Doody’s class; and Hannah Kilcollins, A 4th grader in Mrs. Tompkin’s class.
