Snowe should stand for life

To the editor:
When I saw the headlines last week of Olympia Snowe’s decision not to run, my first thought was Praise the Lord! As one who has prayed earnestly for leaders to be raised up in our state who cherish life in the womb, I have long been dismayed at the “pro-Choice” stance taken by our two Senators. How killing innocent babies got linked with “reproductive rights” is beyond me, but sadly that is the state our country has found itself in.
I have always admired Senator Snowe’s sense of cool confidence and the gracefulness with which she carries herself. I have longed to see her take a stand for life, knowing the great influence she has on many women, nationwide who look up to her. Perhaps there is still time for this.
I am praying and will continue to that God will help her and her family during this time of transition, and she will encounter the love, peace and joy of God in her life in a greater measure than even before. It is God alone that can open “the eyes of the spirit” to fully understand the preciousness He sees in each life-born and unborn.
