Administrators with the Eastern Aroostook RSU 39 school nurse’s office have announced that student athletic physicals are being offered to all interested RSU 39 athletes for the 2012-13 school year.
Physicals will be held on Wednesday, March 21 for any interested students attending middle school and high school in Caribou and Limestone. The physicals will be done at the Caribou High School in the Vocational Health Occupations room. Students are expected to wear shorts and T-shirts. The fee is $10 per students. Physicians from the Cary Medical Center staff will be providing the examinations.
Students must pick up a physical form at their respective schools. Parents will need to complete the front side of the physical form and return the form to their child’s school, at which time a physical appointment time will be assigned. Students should plan to be at the high school no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their appointment time.
No student will be given a physical without a completed/signed physical form and a scheduled appointment time.
Annual sports physical exams are a must for all students attending middle school and high school, whether through their own physician or through the school physical program. These examinations are only offered once per year and do not replace routine visits with the student’s physician. Physicals are not required for regular gym classes.
