The Houlton Aroostook Youth Basketball League 5-6 grade girls captured the title at the East Millinocket Tournament Feb. 11-12 after defeating Millinocket, 42-8, behind Kolleen Bouchard’s 21 points. Aspen Flewelling and Kristen Graham added six points apiece.
The Houlton girls opened the game with a 10-2 lead and extended it at halftime, 20-6. The Houlton girls held Millinocket scoreless in the third, stretching their lead to a 36-6 cushion.
Houlton took their first game against Lincoln, 38-17, behind Graham and Bouchard’s 11 points apiece. Rebecca Mooers added eight in the win and was named Player of the Game.

In the quarterfinals, Houlton topped Millinocket, 33-8.
Bouchard finished with 10 points, while Graham scored nine and Carolyn Mooers added six more. Mooers was the Player of the Game recipient.
The Houlton girls jumped ahead 15-0 at halftime and rolled to victory.
In the semifinals, the Houlton girls were untouched as they came away with a 44-15 win over Medway.
Bouchard and Graham led the way with 11 and 10 points respectively for Houlton. Tyra Gentle and Alexis Miller each posted six points. Miller was named Player of the Game.
Playing for the 5-6 grade girls team are: Bouchard, Graham, Flewelling, C. Mooers, R. Mooers, Miller, Gentle, Jamie Brown, Abby Worthley and Claire Gilpatrick.
