    Kevin and Nancy Nichols of Presque Isle, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Nichols, to Jay Gilbert LaJoie, son of Lisa Learnard LaJoie of Palm Bay, Florida, and Gilbert & Kim LaJoie of Van Buren, Maine.

    Ashley is a 2004 graduate of Presque Isle High School, a 2008 graduate of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and is currently pursuing a Masters of Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Southern Maine.

    Jay is a 2003 graduate of Van Buren District Secondary School, a 2007 graduate of Husson University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is currently the Co-Owner and Farm Business Manager for LaJoie Growers, LLC of Van Buren.

    The couple is planning an Aug. 18, 2012 wedding in Van Buren.
