EASTON — The Easton Pageant Committee is working to instill a sense of community spirit in current queens and future contestants by encouraging volunteerism through projects like the 2012 Winter Ball.
HAVING A BALL — Easton queens and their escorts had a great time at the recent Winter Ball. Pictured from left are: Junior Miss Easton Kylee Carter, Ian Sotomayor, Miss Easton Samantha Buck, Carl Mullen, Teen Miss Easton Abagale Stewart and Jacob Jones.
“The Easton queens are required to spend a pre-determined amount of time volunteering in our community,” said Tina Fields, pageant organizer. “They had a blast recently hosting the Winter Ball at the Odd Fellows Hall.”
The ball was open to students from Easton and surrounding communities in grades 7 through 12.
“The 2012 Winter Ball, sponsored by the Easton Community Fund-raising Pageant, was a wonderful success. We had a very large turnout, the food donated by local community members was amazing and we can’t thank the DJ from Ashland enough,” said Fields. “Participants danced the night away, many kicking off their shoes to do so.”

DOZENS OF AREA YOUTH, enjoyed the 2012 Winter Ball, held at the Easton Odd Fellows Hall in January. The event was sponsored by the Easton Community Fundraising Pageant.
Fields said the girls had a great time and are looking forward to their next fundraiser.
“We’re working hard to make community service a very important part of our organization. We hope to have another Spring Fling dance at the beginning of April, night-club style. So be on the lookout for the date, time and location,” said Fields.
The Winter Ball raised approximately $150 for the Easton organization.
