Youth Cross-Country Ski Program

    The Fort Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the 21st Century Program is conducting a Youth Cross-Country Ski Program for boys and girls in grades 2-6. The program is currently being held from 3-4:15 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons beside the F.F. Elementary School (meet in the cafeteria after school) and continues through March 21. Skiers will be taught the basics of cross-country skiing along with proper ski care, how to wax skis, and all sorts of fun ski games and activities. There is no cost to participate in this program.

Cross-Country Ski Rentals

    A reminder to any students in grades 2-8 that do not have cross-country ski equipment of their own, the Fort Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department will rent you a complete ski package for the entire ski season for only $25 ($20 for each additional sibling). Contact the Parks and Recreation Department to make an appointment to pick up your ski equipment (supplies are limited so don’t hesitate).

Indoor Soccer

    Indoor soccer for boys and girls in grades 2-8 will be held on Tuesday and Thursday at the community center beginning February 28 and ending April 12. The program is divided into three separate age groups to be held at three different times. Grades 2 and 3 will play from 3-4:15 p.m., grades 4 and 5 play from 4:15-5:30 p.m., and grades 6-8 play from 5:30-6:45 p.m. Bus transportation directly from school to the community center is available for participants in grades 2-5. Parents are responsible to pick up their child at the community center when their program ends. Indoor soccer players should bring their own shin guards, mouth guards, and proper sneakers in order to play (shin guards are available for those who do not have any).

Adult Basketball

    The Fort Fairfield Community Center is open for adult basketball on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m. The program is for high school age and over. Teams are selected each night from all those in attendance.
