The college was recently awarded reaffirmation of accreditation of its business programs by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Associate Degree Board of Commissioners.

“Northern Maine Community College has shown their continued commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process,” said ACBSP director of accreditation Steve Parscale, who will present the certificate at the ACBSP annual conference in Baltimore June 17. “This accreditation is evidence that Northern Maine Community College is committed to providing the highest quality business education for their students for the past 10 years and for the next 10 years.”
ACBSP is a leading specialized accreditation council for business education supporting, celebrating and rewarding teaching excellence.
“The faculty within the business technology department take great pride in their accreditation of their various programs. Their dedication to quality improvement of the business courses and programs has supported the department’s goal for reaffirmation of its accreditation for a 10-year period,” said Dwight Clayton, chair of the NMCC business technology department. “In addition to the public statement of quality that the reaffirmation provides, in many cases our designation as an ACBSP accredited school facilitates the ease of transition for our students to four-year institutions regionally and throughout the country.”
The ACBSP accreditation applies to all business programs offered by NMCC that culminate in the associate in applied science degree. Those include the business administration, accounting information systems, and medical office administration programs. Enrollment in all programs offered through the business technology department at NMCC in the current academic year is 185.
