Youth ski program begins
PRESQUE ISLE — The Nordic Heritage Sport Club, in partnership with The Aroostook Medical Center, is offering the 2012 Free Youth Ski Program that began on Jan. 14.
“This program will run through March 10th and all children in first grade through eighth grade are encouraged to attend,” said Sarah Gahagan, program coordinator. “We are thrilled to offer this to Aroostook County youth for free and are hoping this will set the stage for our youth to live and love an outdoor and active lifestyle.”
Children are asked to bring their own equipment and the parents of children in first and second grades are asked to attend with their children. Participants may come to all or any of the Saturday sessions. Sessions run 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle. No programs are set for Feb. 25 and March 3 due to conflicting events.
“This partnership is an important part of our commitment to creating healthy communities through active lifestyles,” said Sylvia Getman, president and CEO of TAMC.
