Shiretowners to recognize fighting spirit on Saturday

Houlton High School is supporting two fighting spirits on Saturday, as they encourage all fans to participate.
The first cause is Cancer Awareness and organizers will be taking donations for ribbons of a variety of color, representing a particular cancer fight.
All proceeds of the donation will be given to the Jeremiah Crockett family.
Secondly, school officials request fans to wear “black” to ignite the Shires’ fire.
The Houlton junior varsity and varsity girls will play Lee Academy at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., followed by the junior varsity and varsity boys’ game against neighboring Hodgdon at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
