SCARBOROUGH – Judith (Taylor) Olds, 73, of Houlton, and Lady Lake, FL died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Judy was born in Houlton, on February 27, 1938, a daughter of the late Glen Olen Taylor and Madeline B. (Bell) Taylor of Houlton.
She attended local area schools and graduated from Houlton High School. After high school she attended the University of Maine in Farmington and then earned her Masters at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham. Judith spent 35 years as a teacher for MSAD #15 at the elementary school level.
She was a master knitter, giving lessons, entering craft shows and even owned her own yarn shop. She loved gardening and dancing and during her retirement she was a line dance instructor. She even took up the game of golf later in her life.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her three children, Jeffrey Hall, Jill Anketell and her husband, Tim, both of Gray, and Heidi Deemer of New Gloucester. She also leaves six grandchildren, Angela, Danielle, Heather, Abby, Sam and Leo; four great-grandchildren, Caden, Dillon, Colby and Deslinee; as well as her sister, Mary Lou Knox of Florida; her brother, Timothy Taylor of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
