Island Falls native featured in USM’s annual juried student exhibition

    PORTLAND — The annual University of Southern Maine Juried Student Exhibition opened to the public in USM’s Gorham Art Gallery last fall.The exhibition is now on display in Portland through Sunday, Feb 19, in the Area Gallery of USM’s Woodbury Campus Center on the Portland campus. Free and open to the public, Area Gallery hours are 7 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday through Friday. Closed holidays.
    Alexandra Bishop of Island Falls is one of the featured artists. Bishop, one of USM’s first recipients of a Creating Maine’s Future Presidential Scholarship, is a sophomore majoring in art history and working toward a bachelor’s degree in studio art with a concentration in printmaking. She is a graduate of Southern Aroostook Community School and is the daughter of Heidi and Craig Bishop.
