North Street property has new owners
PRESQUE ISLE — In November of 2011, four local community members — Nate Berry, John Harvell, Adam Simoes and Scott Violette — formed an LLC named Northern Maine Choice Properties and purchased the properties at 34 and 36 North Street in Presque Isle.
“We have been training together at CPT boot camp and through that we found out that we all had similar thoughts on real estate development, so we decided to give it a shot,” said Simoes.
The partners have all committed to making Aroostook County home for themselves and their families, with the hope of purchasing additional residential and commercial buildings in the future and maybe even starting some other small business ventures.
Passersby may have noticed new construction as they drove past the property at 34 North St. Formerly the home of Moon Dance Studios; NMCP took on a major project in renovating the space for their new tenant. With renovations scheduled to conclude at the end of this month, Barresi Financial will be moving from their current location on Main Street to the North Street building.
Berry, president of Barresi Financial, states, “North Street is a great location for Barresi Financial. This purchase has allowed us to design and build an office that better meets the needs of our clients, as well as giving us room for expansion as the company continues to grow.”
Violette, a certified financial planner at Barresi, agreed, “We’re excited about the opportunity to design our office space and thought the location was excellent. The area is high traffic, there is easy access from the street, plenty of parking and we are still close to downtown and North Main Street.”
Harvell, owner of ACE Rental Car, added, “The 34 and 36 North Street locations offer options for all types of businesses. There are eight suites that range from 600 to 2,400 square feet. We’re excited about new opportunities — helping new businesses open and existing businesses expand their operations. ”
Simoes, a therapist at County Physical Therapy, highlights their mission for the North Street location, “We want to help this community grow. Northern Maine Choice Properties’ mission is to offer budding and established businesses a central, accessible location at an affordable price. We already have a few vacancies but that allows us an opportunity to find new tenants and businesses and that can be exciting.”
