Maine State Society Foundation Scholarships

    Maine college students who were born in or are legal residents of Maine are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by the Maine State Society Foundation of Washington, D.C. Applicants must have completed at least one year at a Maine college or university with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0.

    Since 1991, the Foundation has made awards to Mainers from Sherman Mills, Patten, Winterport, East Machias, EAST Brownfield, West Gardiner, West Enfield, Kennebunk, Windham, Millinocket, Ellsworth, Topsham, Caribou, Brunswick, Hollis, Canton, Fairfield and elsewhere across the state.

    The Foundation was established in 1991 by Mainers living in Washington, D.C. and belonging to the Maine State Society. The scholarship awards will be in an amount of at least $1,000.

    Applications are available at the Financial Aid offices at Maine colleges or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Maine State Society Foundation at 3508 Wilson Street, Fairfax, VA 22030. Applications may also be downloaded from the website: mainestatesociety.org.

    Applications must be postmarked not later than April 1, 2012.
