Slalom meet held in FK

    FORT KENT — The high school Alpine ski season is under way and teams gathered at Lonesome Pines in Fort Kent on Saturday for a pair of slalom races.

    Fort Kent had the two fastest boys on the mountain. In the morning race Brandon Ouellette won the competition with a combined time of both runs at 1:29.41.

    Local skiers in the top 15 included: 3, Spencer Stetson, CAHS; 6, Matt Sullivan, PI; 8, Cody Clayton, CAHS; 9, Dean Walker, Car; 10, Nolan McDuffie, Car; 11, Zach Grass, CAHS; 12, Gabe Player, PI; 13, Thomas Freeman, PI; 14, Jacob Towle, PI; and 15, Chris Carroll, PI.

    In the afternoon race Carter Voisine won with a combined time of 1:28.61.

    Local skiers in the top 15 included: 4, Stetson, CAHS; 6, Sullivan, PI; 8, Walker, Car; 9, McDuffie, Car; 10, Towle, PI; 11, Freeman, PI; 12, Grass, CAHS; 13, Carroll, PI; 14, Sean Barbosa, Car; and 15, Austin Caverhill, Car.

    Roxy Pelletier of Fort Kent won the morning slalom race for the girls with a combined time of 1:32.18.

    Local skiers in the top 15 included: 6, Emma Bartlett, PI; 7, Chelsey Carroll, PI; 9, JoLanna Gough, PI; 11, Katie Plourde, Car; 12, Samantha Kearney, CAHS; 13, Whitney Cote, CAHS; and 14, Regan Buck, Car.

    Fort Kent’s Samantha Dubay won the afternoon slalom with a combined time of 1:44.05.
