    On Monday, the Southern Aroostook Warriors overpowered host Ashland, 79-56, behind Pat Goodall and Jesse Boulier, who each knocked down 22 points.
    Joe Frazier added 11 more for the winners.
    The Warriors led 19-11 to open the game and held a 34-24 halftime cushion. At the end of the third, SACS had expanded their lead to 58-36.
    Last Thursday, the Katahdin Cougars were overtaken by the visiting Schenck Wolverines, 73-57.
    For Katahdin, Bill Livezey led the way with 16 points, while Braden Cunningham tossed in 13; Colton Bivighouse, 12 and Wyatt Morse netted 11.
    The Katahdin girls fell to visiting Central Aroostook, 62-32, last Friday in Stacyville.
    Kayla Cushman was game-high scorer with 18 points, while Vicki McIntyre netted 17; Rachael Grew, 11, including three 3-pointers and Whitnie Bradbury added six.
    For Katahdin, Megan Merry pumped in 15 points, while Delaney Fitzpatrick chipped in with eight and Morgan Livezey five more.
    Last Wednesday, the Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors added another win to the column, overtaking visiting East Grand, 54-24.
    The Lady Warriors led 13-11 to start the game and then held a comfortable, 34-18, halftime cushion.
    Sable Altvater was the game-high scorer with 25 points, while Mataya Hartin tossed in 12 and Jess Tucker added 11 more for the winners.
    For East Grand, Elisha Farley scored nine points and Shaunna Beaudoin finished with eight.
    At Fort Fairfield, the Lady Hawks couldn’t find an answer to Amanda Hotham, who scored 29 points to lead her team past Hodgdon, 65-48.
    Fort Fairfield held a slim, 14-10, opening lead and took a 30-23 halftime advantage. In the third, the Tigers extended their lead to 49-39 en route to the win.
    For Hodgdon, Lacey McQuarrie netted 14 points, while Haley Gardiner pumped in 12 and Mariah Wiley another 11.
    The Katahdin girls picked up a 46-30 victory behind Megan Merry’s 20 points over GHCA.         Morgan Livezey added eight, while Delaney Fitzpatrick scored six; Lizzie Knowles and Ashley Randall, each four points, in Katahdin’s first win.
    For GHCA, Olivia Lord shouldered the scoring with 10 points and Colby Walker chipped in with seven.
    Southern Aroostook raced by the host East Grand Vikings, 110-24 last Tuesday in Danforth.
    The Warriors’ perimeter shooting pushed them to victory, as they converted 17 3-pointers. Boulier was the game-high scorer with 26 points, followed by Goodall with 16. Joe Frazier netted 10 and Cameron Landry tossed in nine.
    Rounding out the scoring for the Warriors were Cody Lassonde, eight; Justin Nelson, seven; Ryland King and Vance Gustin each six points; Kaleb Burpee four and Mason Cameron a basket.
    For East Grand, Billy Stoddard led the way with nine points, while Logan Crone added six. Capping off their scoring were Kenneth Winiarski, four points; Alex Stoddard, three and Alex Brittain, a hoop.
    On Jan. 2, the Vikings were stung by host Ashland, 54-15.
    Winiarski’s five points paced the Vikings.
