The Cary Library announced a most generous donation from Patrick and Maureen Spooner of Windham, N.H. to establish a memorial trust fund in the memory of Gladys H. and Vernon R. “Rusty” Spooner, Spooner’s parents. Gladys Haley Spooner was a longtime resident of Houlton, an avid reader and loved books. The Cary Library’s Endowment Fund provides a lasting legacy through planned giving. A gift to the Endowment Fund remains intact and exists in perpetuity; only the income generated from the Fund is used. This ensures that an endowment gift will enhance and enrich the library experience for the community for generations to come.
