HOULTON — On Dec. 1, the Houlton Higher Education Center was the site for a recognition event for College Transitions students who recently completed a 12-week program designed to prepare them for college.
“College Transitions builds academic skills in math, writing, technology, and builds college-readiness skills for adults who may have been out of school for a few years,” said Otis Smith of the SAD 29/70 Adult Education program. “Many of these students have already been accepted into college for the upcoming spring semester.”

College Transitions is accepting applications for its winter term that begins Jan. 30. Recent high school graduates and adults who have been out of school for a while are all encouraged to apply for this program. The course is affordable and one of the best ways possible to prepare to go to college – locally or out of the area.
