Accountants accept position of ownership
The firm of Chester M. Kearney, certified pubic accountants, has announced that both Barbara McGuire and Timothy Poitras have recently accepted a position of ownership in the company.
Barbara McGuire is a graduate of the University of Maine with a BA degree in accounting. She passed the CPA exam in 1999 and began her career with the firm that same year.
Her professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants. McGuire recently completed her AICPA training and is now a registered peer reviewer under the AICPA Practice Monitoring Program.
Poitras attained his BS in business administration from the University of Maine and his BS degree in accounting from Husson College. His career with the firm began in 2001 and he received his CPA certificate in 2004.
Poitras is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Jacobs earns Fellow status with Forensic Examiners
Springfield, Mo. — Dr. Allen I. Jacobs, a general and forensic dentist in private practice in Presque Isle, has been awarded status as a Fellow of the American Forensic Examiners Institute (ACFEI).
This designation is the highest level of membership ACFEI members can achieve, and it is reserved for a select few who demonstrate experience, training and the highest levels of leadership in the field of forensic science.
Dr. Jacobs has served as consultant for the Texas Department of Safety, The Texas Rangers, since 1999. On occasion, he and his team have been called to service by the Medical Examiner in Augusta.
The ACFEI is the world’s largest forensic science association and a part of its mission is to recognize the experience, education and dedication of professionals who maintain the highest of ethical and forensic service standards.
