BRUNSWICK — Despite hitting 12 three-pointers on Saturday afternoon, the UMPI men’s basketball team dropped a 96-66 decision at Bowdoin College.

The Polar Bears shot 60.9 percent from the field to offset the three’s, however, as the Owls move to 2-3 on the young season.

Patrick Manifold led all players with 21 points for the Owls, while Kyle Corrigan of Caribou added 11 points.

Bowdoin carried a 43-33 edge into the break but the Owls were able to stay within striking distance thanks to the hot outside shooting. UMPI was out-rebounded 45-21 however, including 15-8 on the offensive glass resulting in 21 Polar Bear second-chance points.
