CARIBOU — Two were arrested on Nov. 27 in conjunction with an armed robbery that took place that morning at the Caribou Rite Aid, during which over $2,000 in prescription pain killers and over $1,000 in merchandise were stolen.

Officers of the Caribou Police Department received a report at 11:25a.m. from a Rite Aid employee that an armed robbery had just occurred in their pharmacy in which a male had taken drugs along with other items and was just leaving the store.

Within minutes after the report was filed, Shane Ellis, 30, of Limestone and Amy Geroux, 24, of Bangor were stopped just a few buildings east of the Rite Aid by a Caribou police officer and a state game warden.

The reported stolen items were found in the vehicle.

Ellis and  Geroux were both apprehended and charged with armed robbery, theft of scheduled drugs, aggravated criminal mischief and assault.

Officers of the Caribou Police Department were assisted in the investigation by the Maine State Police and Maine Warden Service.
