CARIBOU — An area resident is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for the theft of valuables from an Elmwood Avenue residence last week.
Anyone who believes they have information regarding the theft is encouraged to contact Doug Bell at 493-3301.
While Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan assures that Caribou is still a safe community, he does advise that residents practice a bit of precaution when they leave their homes and lock their doors.
Should residents be away from their domiciles for an extended period of time, such as a vacation, Chief Gahagan encourages that they contact the police department so that officers can keep an extra eye on their homes.
As Caribou is still a community where neighbors look out for their neighbors, Chief Gahagan encourages that any residents who believe they’ve seen suspicious activity contact the Police Department right away.
Residents are always encouraged to dial 9-1-1 in emergency situations, but individuals wishing to report suspicious activities to a Caribou Officer directly can reach the department by calling 493-3301.
“When someone sees something, they should report it at the time they see it,” Chief Gahagan encouraged.
