TRIP TO LONDON — Janet Kelle, president of the Fort Fairfield Rotary Club, presents London trip funds to winners Janet and Mark Giberson, as part of the Rotary Club’s 25th annual Dream Travel Draw.
“The Fort Fairfield Rotary Club recently hosted its 25th annual Dream Travel Draw at the local community center. The event is the club’s primary annual fund-raising activity, with proceeds being used throughout the year to support numerous service projects in the community/region, as well as internationally,” said Janet Kelle, Rotary president.
Over 150 ticket purchasers and guests enjoyed a hospitality hour, dinner prepared by the local Lions Club and dancing to music provided by the Sound Friendships band.
“Throughout the evening, 20 ticket holders won $100 cash prizes, while 15 holders won $200 cash prizes,” noted Carl Young, public relations officer for the club. “The evening culminated with five tickets being drawn for trips to Disney World, Paradise Island, Cancun, London and the Hawaiian Islands — or cash equivalents from $1,000 to $3,000.”

BAHAMAS DREAM VACATION — Janet Kelle, president of the Fort Fairfield Rotary Club, presents Nancy and Glenn Hoel with the funds to cover a dream vacation to Paradise Island. Several trips and cash prizes were awarded during the Rotary Club’s 25th annual Dream Travel Draw, held in October.
Kelle wished to thank the Rotary Club’s “many dedicated supporters.”
“Monies raised from prior year draws have supported service projects such as community Thanksgiving dinners, multiple annual scholarship awards, Maine veterans’ projects, Aroostook Teen Leadership conferences, Rotary’s internationally-recognized End Polio Now program, community Riverside Park Building funding, international Water for Schools projects and more,” said Kelle.
In addition to many similarly-supported service projects, Kelle said this year’s projects include, “the recently-inaugurated Rotary Spirit Student Award program partnership with Fort Fairfield High School and Homeless Services of Aroostook (homeless shelter in Presque Isle) support.”
