MARS HILL — A vehicle sought by State Police in connection with an assault on a Mars Hill woman was located abandoned in Easton. Police continue to look for the owner, Chad Walton, 30, of Presque Isle.
Walton is wanted for questioning in connection with what police are calling a “violent domestic assault” that sent a Mars Hill woman to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Police had been looking for both Walton and his vehicle, a 1998 Chevy Malibu, until the car was found parked in Easton just before Thanksgiving.
“The vehicle has been located abandoned in a parking area in Easton and impounded,” said Sgt. Brian Harris, MSP.
Police are still asking for the public’s help in locating Walton.
“We are still searching for Walton and are still asking for the public’s assistance with locating him. Any information as to his whereabouts is appreciated,” said Harris.
Walton is described as being 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. Walton has a prior record, including an indictment in 2009 by the Aroostook County grand jury for aggravated assault and violation of condition of release. Anyone with information is asked to contact the MSP at 532-5400. Information will be kept confidential.
