Gallery presents Logging in the Maine Woods Today
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Reed Fine Art Gallery will become the third venue to host “Logging in the Maine Woods Today,” a photographic exhibition on tour from the Maine Museum of Photographic Arts [MMPA], when it is on display through Saturday, Dec. 17.

UMPI students to take part in semester of service event
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Student Activities Office will team up with the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging for a service project on Friday, Nov. 11. Students will help the elderly in the community as they winterize their homes. For more information, contact the Student Activities Office at 768-9582.
Holiday Farmers and Artisans Market to be held at UMPI
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s College of Arts and Sciences will sponsor a Farmers and Artisans Market hosted by the Presque Isle Farmers Market on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in UMPI’s Campus Center. Vendors from Aroostook County Farmers’ Markets such as: Presque Isle, Caribou, Fort Fairfield, TAMC and Mic Mac have been invited to participate; memberships include producers of meat, dairy products, eggs, baked goods and winter vegetables. Artists producing pottery, jewelry, sculpture, photographs, paintings, drawings and fiber art will be displaying their works as well, along with the works of UMPI students. This event is open to the public.
Extension Association annual meeting in PI on Nov. 17
The Aroostook County Extension Association’s annual meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church on Fleetwood Street in Presque Isle.
The business meeting will be preceded by a social time at 5:30 p.m. and a dinner served at 6 p.m. Reservations for dinner are required. The program for the evening will feature Aroostook County Homemakers Extension groups’ slide presentation and speakers of various extension groups, along with presentation of awards and election of board members and officers.
