Rotary Club receives update on former McCain’s site
WASHBURN NEWS
by Tomi Henderson
Tim Roix of BR Smith Associates in Presque Isle recently spoke to the Washburn Rotary Club.
Winner of the door prize drawn during the Washburn Rotary Club’s Hunters’ Breakfast was Dacota Dube, son of Shawn and Lynn Dube.
He was there to update them on the plans that have been drawn up concerning the possible re-use of the McCain’s lot at the corner of the Gardner Creek Road and Main Street. He noted that more funds are necessary to turn the area into the “grassy knoll” that has been envisioned. Town officials and the Zoning Board are looking for the public’s input concerning the future of this land, and will be announcing public hearings to be held in the near future. All citizens of Washburn are urged to attend these meetings to help decide the future of this site.
