Main Street traffic at the intersection of Park and Allen streets was delayed briefly on Wednesday, Oct. 26, due to an accident involving three vehicles — a 2009 Kia registered to and operated by Mark Kornachuk, 43, and a 1999 Chrysler registered to and operated by Erwin Doherty, 58, both of Presque Isle, as well as a 2005 Pontiac registered to and driven by Mary Dufour, 73, of Baileyville. Kornuchuk’s wife and 2-year-old child were passengers. Dufour also had two passengers, a 19-year-old female and a 15-year-old male. Officer Kevin Schumacher of the Presque Isle Police Department responded, assisted by Chief Matt Irwin, Det. Bill Scull, the Presque Isle Fire Department and Crown Ambulance. Victims were transported to TAMC for treatment of minor injuries. Mike Cowett’s Towing Service of Presque Isle was called to tow two of the vehicles, including the Pontiac, as pictured here. Damage was estimated in the thousands of dollars.
