Player of the week
University of Maine at Presque Isle midfielder Aaron Hutchins has been named the USCAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.
Aaron Hutchins 
had a career game last Saturday during the Owls’ 5-2 victory over the Falcons from Fisher College. The freshman from Medway scored two goals and assisted on two others, leading UMPI to its 4th win of the season.
“Aaron had an outstanding game on Saturday,” said Owls’ head coach Alan Gordon, “his first goal off a corner was one of the best goals of the season.”
Hutchins is the first UMPI men’s soccer player to receive the weekly award this season.
Midnight Madness
The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will officially begin the 2011-2012 season with their annual Midnight Madness event on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Wieden Gymnasium. For more information contact Marc Heidorf at 768-9523.
