Richard Engels would make an excellent city councilor

Next Tuesday, Nov. 8, the citizens of Presque Isle will have the opportunity to go to the polls and make some decisions. All eligible voters can decide on some state referendum questions and choose representatives for SAD 1 School Board and Presque Isle City Council. I encourage all who can to get out and vote.
I am writing this letter in support of Richard “Dick” Engels who is looking to fill one of the vacant one year slots on the Presque Isle City Council. I have known Dick for some 40-plus years. I find him to be an intelligent, well informed individual. Over the years, I have seen Dick become involved in several different community endeavors and successfully improve them.
Dick Engels has two key ingredients that would make him an excellent councilor — experience and good old common sense.
In last week’s Star-Herald, Dick indicated that he doesn’t have a given agenda, but wants to work to further the best interests of the citizens and in particular the taxpayers of Presque Isle. I believe him.
A vote for Richard “Dick” Engels on Nov. 8 is a good choice.
