Joining with Masonic lodges across the state, Freemasons meeting in the Caribou Masonic building, 41 Hatch Drive, opened their doors to the public on Oct. 15, as part of Square & Compasses Day, a statewide celebration of Freemasonry. Established 250 years ago, Freemasons are the world’s oldest and largest fraternity. During the recent open house Jim and Colleen Murphy of Caribou, stopped in at the Caribou Lodge and spent time perusing books, which contain signatures and dates of inductees dating back to the 1800s. From left are: Troy Gagnon, Lodge member, Colleen and Jim Murhpy, Neal Haines, Mac Haines and Ronald Thibodeau, members of the Masonic Lodge.
