Caribou Rotary President Doug Hunter, left, and Patrick Bennett, president-elect, recently announced the club’s primary fundraiser; the 17th Annual Draw is currently under way.
According to the Rotarians, donations to this project enable the club to continue supporting programs that include, the Caribou Recreation Department, Caribou schools, Caribou Little League and to annually provide bicycle helmets to all second-grade students in Caribou as well as four surrounding communities.
The 17th Annual Draw will include the awarding of 50 cash drawings plus a $500 bonus door prize given the evening of the Draw, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.
Cash drawings during the 2011 Draw will include the following amounts: first prize, $6,000; second, $5,000; third, $4,000; (1) $1,000; (1) $500; (5) $250; and (40) $100; plus the $500 bonus door prize.
Tickets may be purchased for $60 each or two or more at $50 each. There will be no more than 1,000 tickets sold, allowing for a 1 in 20 chance of winning a cash prize. Attendance is only required for the door prize drawing.
The purchase price of a ticket also includes admission for one to the Dec. 10 drawing and dance.
Tickets for the 17th Annual Draw may be purchased from any Caribou Rotary Club member.
“If you are a resident in the central Aroostook area, chances are very good that you or someone you know has benefited from a Rotary project and/or donation,” said Patrick Bennett, Caribou Rotary president-elect, who is chairing this year’s Annual Draw.
