The Fantastic Summer Fundraiser was indeed fantastic! The drawing was held at the Presque Isle Dead River office. One hundred gallons of fuel, donated by Dead River, was won by Carol Howard from St. Francis.
The Oakfield Senior Citizens held a food sale to place the $200 cash prize on the ticket. Elaine (Tessy) Barrett represented the Oakfield group and drew Millie Bennett from Wade.
Polly Taylor from Houlton won the $150 gift certificate from Hogan Tire.
The $50 worth of groceries from Paradis Shop ‘n Save went to Alberta McDonald from Smyrna Mills. Special thanks to all these businesses and to all those who helped sell tickets to support RSVP. The local RSVP members were sure happy to bring two of the prizes to southern Aroostook. The southern Aroostook area sold all 300 of their tickets, raising $1,500.
Also, RSVP volunteers will be at the 2011 Houlton Winter Crafts and Gift Fair on Friday, Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. This event is at the Houlton Recreation Department, 128 Main St., Gentle Memorial building.
