The mission of the Fort Fairfield High School Civil Rights Team, which is part of the Maine Attorney General’s Office, is to “increase the safety of high school students and to reduce the incidence of bias-motivated harassment and violence in schools.” The local team is choosing to do this by focusing on promoting the positive aspects of Fort Fairfield High School and the community. On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Civil Rights Team will be hosting a potluck dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. in the school cafeteria. A wide variety of food and beverages will be served. Admission is $3 a ticket, available at the door. The dinner is all you can eat. All proceeds will go toward Civil Rights-related events the team hopes to sponsor. Team members helping organize the dinner are, from left: Erin Williams, team president; Chris Berry, Jared Michaud, Eric Edwards, Matthew Theriault, team treasurer; Jordan Sirois (guest for the photo), Carter Shaw, Janaé Libby, Logan Bubar, Abbey Player, Nicole Giberson, Madison Watson and Rachel Elmore, faculty adviser. Absent when the photo was taken was Randy McNally, team secretary.
