The Houlton Wesleyan Church, located on Kelleran Street, invites all children in grade six and under to its free 7th Annual Trunk-or-Treat on Monday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m. Kids and parents alike are welcome to come in non-scary costumes to take part in the carnival games, enjoy some entertainment, and collect candy from the “trunkers” after the party.
“Children must attend the entire event in order to take part in the Trunk-or-Treat at the end of the party.,” said Hollie McAfee, event organizer. “Pre-register online at www.houltonwesleyan.org. You may also sign up at the door, but you’ll be able to party sooner if you pre-register.”
The church has participants park their vehicles in a large semi-circle, with the trunks opened. A person stands at each vehicle, some of which are elaborately decorated and illuminated, and passes out candy to each child.
For safety purposes, the individuals passing out candy wear a badge so parents can identify which people are authorized to pass out candy.
