A Lewiston man with connections to Presque Isle has been charged in connection with the disappearance of a 22-year-old woman identified as Christiana Melusine Fesmire, also of Lewiston, who was last seen in early July.

Buddy Robinson, 30, was charged with murder late Thursday after a Maine State Police investigation led officials to believe Robinson was responsible for Fesmire’s presumed death.

An affidavit of Herbert Leighton, a detective with the MSP, included information from several people associated with Robinson, including the man’s sister, indicating Robinson was involved with Fesmire’s disappearance. The sister, whom Robinson was living with at the time of his arrest, reportedly told Leighton her brother had confessed to killing Fesmire — who lived in the same building with them — and had subsequently disposed of her body. Police have yet to locate the body.

This isn’t the first time Robinson has been in trouble with the law. Last fall, while attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle as an accounting student, Robinson was involved in a domestic issue that led to his arrest. According to a Presque Isle Police Department log entry dated Nov. 28, the victim, whose name is not being released, reported that she believed Robinson, a former boyfriend, had set up an alias on Facebook to contact her and was subsequently harassing her online and in person.

Officer Kevin Reed, of the PIPD, obtained search warrants and determined Robinson’s IP addressed matched that of the alias and an arrest warrant was issued. Reed subsequently arrested Robinson on Dec. 6, 2010, charging him with domestic violence stalking and violation of condition of release.

Robinson appeared in Presque Isle District Court in April 2011, where he was sentenced on the stalking charge to 60 days in jail, with all but 48 hours suspended, probation for one year and 50 hours of community service. For violating condition of release, Robinson was sentenced to a $250 fine, 48 hours in jail and 50 hours of community service.

Robinson was scheduled to be arraigned on the murder charge on Nov. 10 at the Androscoggin County Superior Court. He is currently be held without bail at Androscoggin County Jail.
