The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department’s “Take it Outside” Senior Series recently made a visit to King’s Landing Historical Settlement. Although the Oct. 4. weather was less than desirable, a group of enthusiastic explorers found the silver lining in what King’s Landing had to offer.

The visitors were treated to a guided horse-drawn wagon ride with their own private interpreter and later enjoyed a hot bowl of turkey soup, a variety of sandwiches topped off with a scrumptious piece of lemon meringue pie.

The group also made an unexpected stop at the Covered Bridge Potato Chip Company, where they participated in a self-guided tour of the production facility.
