PORTAGE LAKE – Paul D. Nason, 77, went to be with his Lord, October 7, 2011. He was born in Presque Isle, March 24, 1934, to Rev. Charles Harrison Nason and Doris (Higgins) Nason.

He spent four years in the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War. While he was in the service, he became skilled in heavy equipment operation. With the knowledge he gained in the Service, he used it in various places during his working career. Upon returning to Maine, he worked for Great Northern Paper Co. until he retired. Until his passing, he cut and sold firewood.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace; two sons: Charles David and Kenneth; and two daughters: Linda Smith and Sharyl Kozloff, and their spouses. He also has eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie McCausland and Wileta Bell; and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his life was held at the Congregational Church in Portage Lake on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: Ashland Key Bank, Nason Memorial Fund. All donations will go to the Salvation Army.
