Caribou Middle School announces September’s Students of the Month

CARIBOU, Maine — Susan White, principal at the Caribou Middle School and CMS teachers recently announced those named  September Students of the Month.

Spencer McDuffie, a sixth-grade student was named September Student of the Month by his teachers Mrs. Cathy Bouchard and Ms. Sarah LaJoie. “Spencer is a truly wonderful young man who is a joy to have in class,” said the CMC teachers, “he is always pleasant and cooperative when asked to do anything and is very well liked by  his classmates.”

“Spencer works exceptionally hard in all of his academic areas and is never too busy to help a peer,” stated the teachers. “An avid Red Sox fan, he is also very involved in sports during his free time, playing Little League baseball and Rec basketball and soccer,” they added.

Corey Guerrette is a grade-six CMC student who was chosen as September Student of the Month by his teachers Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mr. John Pelletier. “Corey is a very conscientious and hard working student,” stated the team teachers, “he tries his best in everything that he undertakes and never gives up. He is a kind and compassionate young man whom his peers admire.”

“Corey keeps busy helping his father and uncles by doing a variety of jobs on the family farm,” his teachers added, “he is also a member of the VFW Little League team and his friendly attitude and sense of humor make him a pleasure to have in class here at CMS.”

Casey Dobson, a member of the seventh grade at Caribou Middle School was chosen September Student of the Month by her teachers Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt and Mr. Steve Perreault.

“Casey is a conscientious student,” said the CMS teachers, “always prepared for class and driven to be the best she can be. A compassionate student, always willing to help her peers and Casey treats everyone with great respect and her positive personality is infectious.”

Brittany Dickinson, a seventh-grade CMS student was chosen as September Student of the Month by her team teachers Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Rhinebolt, Mrs. Curtis and Mr. Perreault.

“A very good student who takes great pride in her work, Brittany is very helpful and always willing to lend a hand to those in need,” stated her teachers. “She is very kind to others and strives do her best in whatever that may be, she is also involved in the CMS strings music program.”

Ben Ezzy, an eighth-grade CMS student was named September Student of the Month by his teachers Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mr. Ralph Fantasia, Mr. Travis Barnes, Mr. Troy Barnes and Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, who stated, “Ben was chosen because of his willingness to help others and his ability to set an example for all who attend CMS.”

“A member of the CMS band, orchestra, developmental assets team and an active member in the Gifted and Talented program, Ben also is a member of the soccer, ski and track teams at CMS, and participates in Rec basketball and the Dutch Soccer Academy outside of school.” the teachers added. “Ben is always willing to help a fellow classmate, or teacher, often without being asked. He is a wonderful role model to all students and sets a great example regarding schoolwork and the treatment of fellow classmates, schoolmates, teachers and adults,” stated the CMS teachers.

Anna Soderberg , a member of the eighth-grade class at CMS was selected as September Student of the Month by her teachers Mrs. Dow, Mr. Fantasia, Mr. Barnes, Mr. Barnes and Mrs. Sleeper.

“Anna is an active student at CMS, having participated in band, student organization and on the cross-country, tennis and ski teams and is also involved with the Maine Dance Academy outside of school,” stated the CMS teachers. “An exceptional student who is consistently on the honor roll and we view Anna as a student who is well-respected by peers and staff alike,” they added.
