Player of the year

sp-chess-dcx-pt-40Roger Morin of Houlton has won the title of Player of the Year for 2011. This award was given by Maine Chess Association (MECA)  on Oct. 1 to the player who had the best performance and participation in MECA tournaments for the year. Morin teaches chess at Houlton High School as an After-school program each  Monday and owns The Art Studio on Court Street. In the photograph, Morin, right, wins the final game against Collin Calhoun to win the title.
